does anyone know the laws in victoria regarding fitting race seats (fia spec) and roll cages to cars.. are you legally allowed in a non compliance plated car 1962.. to fit these things? or does everything have to be adr compliant?

cheers

sean

cages are free, there are rules though. PDF file here

but seats will need an engineers report. my engineer said that as long as the seats were ARD approved and weigh less than what was there, i'd be ok.
if the seats weigh more i was going to have to re-enforce the mountings.

i got a hold of a set of Sparco spring juniors, they were lighter than the seats that i was replacing (not in a mini, by the way). these seats are FIA & ADR approved.

I have Sparco Juniors in my car, no issues whatso-ever when getting the roady or reg.
And thats in the rover. It's hard to get in the back, since the seats don't recline, but
I have no problems there, just don't take passengers.
:D
