My LS had rust around the side of the roof because of her vinyl roof and we had to cut a good roof off another mini and get a panel beater to transplant it ![]() |

Depends how far you want to go, You could just grind it back and bog it. or go all the way and replace the whole roof, depends how bad the rust is, keep in mind if its in the roof gutter it will be hiding somewhere else, the best thing is to strip the whole car back and respray, however if this is not financialy the best option just do what you can afford at the time. |

IMO a rusty roof is harder to fix than a rusty sill/floor. If it's your first go at restoring a car and you don't plan to hire a (good) panel beater I'd say look for another mini ![]() On the other hand if you are good with a welder and a grinder go for it, but it still wont be easy or quick ![]() I'm not trying to talk you out of it or knock you down a peg, just out of personal experience rust can be a big barrier to a noob restorer. |

If the rust is quite deep then it is rusted thru. Can you post some pics of the areas, I probably have sections from wrecked cars for repairs |
