Hi all i just put a 40mm dcoe weber on my car and wanted to know what size jets and other stuff it should have in it for my motor .. It's only a standard 1275A+ cooper motor with maniflow extractors and a swiftune SW5 cam (very mild ) car just sounds a little flat .. any advice would be greatly appreciated .. Thanks beanie |

This will Probably start a heated debate, But If was me I would take it off and put a single 1-3/4" SU on, Unless you intend to use for serious competition |

Yeah it will be used for serious racing ... the stock motor is only in there to get me back out on the track ... Im building a hot 1380 up to go racing with the historic boys latter in the year ... Beanie |

In my opinion too, and a 45 DCOE would be better for serious racing than the 40 ![]() |

I bought the 40mm dcoe because it was cheap ... the largest size choke that i wanna run is 36mm and i can buy that for the 40mm weber so why not ... i only payed $300 for the weber linkage and 4 inch manifold ... |

There is a so-called rule of 5 for Weber and Dellorto sidedraft carbs, they don't work properly if the choke is bigger than (carb size -5mm). So really a 35 choke will stop it.. I agree a 40DCOE is too small for a race 1275, my roady 1360 is running a 45 with 38 chokes. ![]() |

Yep, going Sprinting at Mallala on Sunday ![]() Right, so no-one has been able to give me an answer other than change the carb. ![]() Anywho, any ideas so as to what main jets, idles, or pump jets i might need? The ign timing is set right, but it still sounds very flat. There is a box of bits i can rummage through, but any clues on what i should be looking for? C'mon guys, you lot are usually most helpful. Does it help if i say please? ![]() |

Sorry but all my carby book specs on 1275s are for a 45DCOE Weber, or 45DHLA Dellorto. I would put 34 or 35mm chokes in it for starters.. ![]() |
