Picked up my Wife's Mini today...
and a Ute full of engines and bits and pieces. 
How do I find out what I've got?
Will take some pictures tomorrow when I have a bit more time.. and light and post them in the garage pic thread.

Picked up my Wife's Mini today... and a Ute full of engines and bits and pieces.

Engine number is stamped on the block. You will find it under the thermostate (Radiator Hose) or above Number 1 spark Plug. Head Number you have to take the rocker cover off

Sweet as thanks Gafmo. Will check them tomorrow as best I can.. nothing some degreaser and a socket set won't fix. Post my findings tomorrow but so far counted at least five gear boxes, four engines with no boxes and a complete 850 (with GB), numberous carbs, manifolds, drive shafts, gears, flywheels and the list just goes on and on.
