In my opinion this van looks great on the outside, engine bay is tidy, but whats the go with the checker plate aluminium dash, in the rear of the van & the horrid floor mats? They seem to ruin a nice car.

IMHO, I don't think checker plate has EVER been cool. :?

I totally agree with what you said though.

i think it was cool for a couple of days during the early 80's...

and i think those exterior shots have been photoshopped.... much more colour saturation on the car than in the rest of the picture.. i doubt the paint will be that shiny in real life!

That's the thing with minis, you can go and customize it however you want, who cares what other people think. Only problem is this guy might have hurt his resale value a bit.

I don't mind checker plate in principle, but I think he took it a tad too far - I don't know about anyone else but my elbows are always up against or hitting the door cards in my car, i'd imagine i'd bleed to death if I drove that car :) (unless it's the plastic look-a-likey stuff)

aww my dash is checkerplate and i love it! it was one of the reasons i bought my car. and in my old mini i put checkerplate door cards, they looked good to me (they did rattle abit though) i must be one of the minority that like it...

You'd be able to fry eggs on those door cards and floors in summer.
