hey i was just wondering if i measured as accurately as i could wit a measuring tape, from the center of each wheel from front to back, and then compared measurement on both sides, if i was off by about a cm is that alright?

sorry if this is hard to understand ummm, image your standing one one side of the car and your looking at the two wheels on one side, and then u measure from the center of one wheel at the back to the center of the wheel at the front and then do the same for the outer side and your off by 1 cm, is this alright.

cheers bill

do u mean,

you have measured from the center of the front left wheel to the centre of the back left wheel.

then done the same on the right side of the car, and there is a 1cm error?

It's not uncommon for the wheelbase to differ from side to side, largely due to the front suspension geometry being slightly out. My car has about 7cm difference between sides IIRC, but that's because I have had to adjust the caster on one side by about 5 degrees to compensate for an out-of-square front subframe. If your car has ever had a whack, your wheelbase could easily be out by a centimeter or more. Nothing to worry about of the car handles properly.

The first thing is... Does the car drive straight? Does it pull left or right when you take your hands off the wheel on flat ground?

no... it's not OK....

since the bumper is intact, the front of the subframe wouldn't have been impacted, so wouldn't have shifted

I was referring to the vehicles alignment.
