Byron is fantastic. I spent two weeks up there a few years back.

Nothing but the beach, sleep and good food for two whole weeks. I tried a different restaurant every night. Every one of them was top notch. 8)

The wifes sister and husband live in Byron - moved there 30 years ago. live on top of the hill overlooking the town and Bay up from Clark's Beach.

Best B&B in town - family members only

Pah, I hate you. It's freezing in Melbourne this week.

I live in "Byron Court", just to remind me of what great weather was like. :(

I'd suggest putting automatic jap engines in the Mokes so the people that use them don't trash the clutches and gears  or you could keep some with 1380 A series twincam'ers for the mini enthusiasts such as us...so we can trash the clutches and gears  :P

When I hired a Moke in Pt Douglas a few years ago the owner was very interested to know I had an Auto one. He reckoned he had two or three enquiries a week from people who wanted to hire a Moke but could only drive Autos.

Revving them in N and then slamming it into 1 to do screechies will kill any autobox.

You could ADR a fleet of Chokes with A+ auto 998s...

Where would you live Matt? In town with the yuppies or the hills with the hippies?

I hired a Moke once in Airlie Beach. It was in 1985. Gutless thing, it would only do 95kph anywhere. It had the parachute up (roof) and it was a condition of hire that it had to stay up.

On the counter in the office was a heap of dockets from Mini Kingdom.

hee hee,,, yeah there is a whole heap of Europeanese in Bryron, but some of them aren`t bad looking :-) especially the female ones :-)

I am in the middle of subframes to suit suzi--starlet--mazda bubble engines so i`m figuring it would be best to shove a few auto magic Bubble donks in a few of them for hire, but i most certainly will have a t least one with a 1360 bimmer twinky turbo injected donk in it :-) :-) :-) don`t think that one would be for hire tho :-) :-) :-)

Surf was flat for a few days but then the southerly swell came up & pumped up big for a few more days & then it slackened off again over the weekend,,, i`m totally stuffed now, way too much paddling,,, i`m gonna need a jet ski for my girlfriend to tow me back each time :-)

going back again this weekend :-) It`s a hard life but some body has to do it hey? :-)
