There won't be any holes drilled, but you can certainly put them in.

Just finding a pic of a drilled inner guard...

If it's a PBR VH44J there's lots of engine compartment pictures in the Members Mini Gallery that show the location and piping route. Sorry I don't have one to hand. My MK II S has the booster reversed (on the 'to fix' list) so pics of it wouldn't be a lot of help.
Can anyone else find a suitable link quickly?

A mk1 lockheed booster would use the forward two holes (seen close together) as well. The VH44 booster seen here uses two holes ready pressed into the inner guard, but probably not present on yours.

The booster has to mounted slightly nose up-hill. Otherwise it will not bleed properly.

Mick's picture reminds me of one of those numerous questions about Minis that I carry round in my head and rarely get answered adequately. What are those unused holes for on the side panel in front of the booster? It would be interesting to know what that panel looked like from the very first roundnose car to the last. I assume the first vehicle had no unused holes, unless they were for optional extras. Were holes just added over time or were there different panels for different models of the same era?

P.S. One of my other outstanding questions that has various opinions but no consensus is the timing of the introduction of rocker covers with the MOWOG Australian flag embossing.

The for'd two close together vertically are for the older lockheed 5 1/2 booster mounting (it has a bracket on it's nose) and the lower horizontal pair I presume are for the K heater?? Not sure on the latter two, can anyone confirm?

Yes the bottom 2 are for the freshair heater as std on Matic and optional on K etc. Early ones had 2 bolts in there, later on they fitted a |_| shaped U-bolt with a rubber buffer V mount on it, similar to a Moke windscreen mount.
