G'day All,

I'm definitely a newbie when it comes to Minis. I need to a kick start.

I'm hopefully getting a 67 round nose deluxe shell soon and my question is...
apart from the bonnet, lights and grill, will the doors, boot, interior and all mechanicals
fit from a flat nose into a round nose?

I'm sorry if this seems obvious to you, but it isnt obvious to me :P

Josh.

Doors..Eg Hingers will not work without heavy mods will be the major problem you will come across.

Otherwise I hope your handy with a welder

Clubby doors won't fit it unless it's a 1971 roundy shell.
Hinges are the same, but the doorlocks and B pillars are not.

Most of the rest will fit, lots of roundies are running about with later mechanicals.

It is quite easy to improve the look of a round nose mini by welding a square front on it. (walks away from the impending bun fight)

interiors and mechanicals are generally pretty compatable

doors (lift up handles) dont fit onto a deluxe shell (they only fit on the mini k's)

not sure bout boots :?

So, doors are a no go then... what about the boot?
Are all the windows the same between round and flat?

clubby doors only fit the very LAST of the Mini Ks and Ss, 1971 production.
Boots are all the same, my Matic now has a Clubby boot...
windows all the same, except old 850 sliders.

wicked... that makes things super easy.

I take it all the sub frames and every are the same too?

Basically, I'm gonna have a bare shell and wanna know if I buy a flat nose for a parts car, what will be usable and not so usable.

Aside from doors and the obvious front end, as well as suspension (can't really mix n match bits from hydro to dry) you'll be all set.

My 69 mini has '62 subframes, a '97 engine, an 80s bootlid, and even a BMW mini dash!
:D

Thank you very much. You are all very prompt repliers. I love it.

Another question, I'm used to working on a 96 falcon, would anybody here say that
a mini is a fairly simple car to work on? i'm gonna get a laugh out of the replies to this i'm sure. lol.

Very easy if you don't loose your temper and don't mind cuts, knocks, bruses to hands and your head.

Tip - if you have young kids and working under the bonet - disconnet the horn......
