Guys, my brand new indicator stalk arrived this morning, and I went to fit it tonight to find that the plug on the end is different. Left is the old one, right is the new one ![]() They both have the same wires except the new one has one extra purple to the top right of the unit (if it was on the car), and in picture below. ![]() Question: Do I have to send it back and get the right one or do I cut the wires and join them into the old plug connector, leaving off the extra purple? |

Jill, someone else had this same problem and I believe they cut the plug off....etc... Out of interest, where did you buy the new one from? |

That wire is the headlight flasher circuit. If you connect to 12V it will work! Kewl! ![]() <edit> if you poke a jewellers screwdriver in behind, next to the wire, to straighten the tabs, you can pull the lugs & wires out of the new plastic connector and fit them into your old one. ![]() |

Kev, how do u mean? Do you mean that u can flash your headlights when u pull BACK on the indicator stalk, like most modern cars? If so, that would be cool. |

Kevs idea about removing the wires, rather than cutting, is a winner! |

Yeah i love them. Rover stalks do the same, but; like in a Vectra; you gotta remember to use the LEFT side for indication... using the 'proper' side makes you do this ![]() ![]() |
