what does this mean 1003 1006 s a person knows i play with the dreaded mini and dropped off stuff to me that i did not know about and this engine block had these numbers i know its out of a moke but what does the S stand for cheers and thanks for any info provided |

I understand that the S on the end of the number means the block was sleeved by the factory when new. I have no proof that this is in fact the case but it is something that I have picked up in my research that needs further work. (I also need to find out what a B on the end of an engine number means  )

This is what I have for the 1003 engine prefix... 1100cc, Single SU, Manual transmission, Direct control gearchange (magic wand), Low compression, Mechanical fuel pump. So that means Moke and possibly Mini 1100 Van. |

How many sleeves did it have? I wonder if they saved up the crook castings and fitted sleeves to reclaim them and used them in low compression engines? |

Don't you have a full stop on your keyboard? It's very hard to decipher when you just run on without punctuation and capitals.

aww come on.. thats a bit cruel! My inlaws are all tasmanian, and you wouldn't believe it, but 1 head each, 8 fingers, 2 thumbs, 10 toes! (and no, im not a cousin..) |

there are four sleeves in this block but i dont have any caps so it might be a good boat anchor |
