ok. Closer examination and a little more knowlage tells me that i want to get a set of 7.5 cooper brakes. mini sport uk $1,254.75 AUD mini spares uk $1,407.86 AUD mini sport aus $1,595.00 AUD Can anyone tell me the differance in my three options? I think mini sport aus here in adelaide are mini spares dealers so i'm going to assume they would be the same brake setup. |

If you buy local you won't pay a bunch of $$$ for freight. ![]() Check Karcraft's price here too, they bring heaps in from Minispares UK- www.karcraft.com.au |

If you bring them in and value is over $1000 you will get hit with our GST, and probably more courier charges too.... |

UK prices may include freight, but have you included duty? Most things over a grand get stopped and you get the phone call! ![]() |

Just caught drmini's 2nd post there..... bugger. gst's what %10 and more freight on top........ h'mmmmm have requested a quote from karcraft but i'm guessing there not in Adelaide so that'll have postage on the top to. There really is no cheap option for anything is there..... |

Anyone know what sort of duty gets charged on these thing's? I think it's 10% GST, and 15% duty, and UPS or whoever the courier is charge here too for handling it. |

Exchange components however.... ..(I knew of a fellow from the QMCC years ago who mailed an 850 head to the UK so they could send him some exotic 1275 head as an "exchange item"... Also, under the old rules a car of over 30 years attracted a different import tax duty. I think 5% instead of 30%. I'm not sure how it works these days however.. |

I imported about $2.5k worth of brake & suspension bits from MiniSpares UK last year, and paid almost no duty -- Customs assessed the order by the first line item on the invoice, which was brake hoses, I think. Paid GST though.. but even had I paid duty as well as GST it would still have come in less than I could find online in Oz. |
