On the topic of tanks, i had to clean sum scunge out of the bottom of my moke tank... and some flakey rust, so once i flushed it, i got 2 cups of "CLEAN" gravel, and sloshed it round in ther for about half/three quarters of an hour... then tipped it out, seemed to do the job finely

Its the one about half the length of a coke can, about the same diameter and costs about $18 from Rebel Spares.... Its a "coopers" brand... the Holden one, is about $40 though......

I get about 6 months out of one, so its a pretty good economy !

I've got an EA one, it's a big bastard too, haven't fitted it (to the Ford!) yet.
Wasn't dear- $13-$14?

If you MUST fit a cartridge type filter before the pump make sure it's a big one or you'll starve the pump...

BTW, both this Ford EA one and the Commodore one are normally on the pressure side of the pump (which is in the tank), but they are big enough for this job.

yeh , as long as the filter is just after the priming pump( EFI) and before the pressure pump, they are ok to use on low pressure carb cars, but done EVER use an efi filter thats after the main pump coz the gauze is real fine and so it will choke up ya fuel lines :? but this vs filter sounds like the crap :)

The Ryco part numbers for the inline filters are:
5/16 fuel hose plastic style Z14
1/4 fuel hose plastic style Z15
These are designed for carby engines and mechanical pumps.

5/16 fuel hose large steel body is Z168
5/16 fuel hose smaller steel body is Z200
These are designed for fuel injected systems and filter much smaller debris out.

These should be available from most spare parts outlets such as Repco etc. I personally don't use cheap crap copiies (ie cooper, FSA etc) as they have less paper element and the paper used will not filter as finer particles. If you are going to use the injected filters stick to Ryco or Bosch.
