Well after the Muster, which was Sonics maiden run I've discovered a major problem.

It appears that as I have had some rear seat belts put in the bolt/captive nut comes too far into the wheel well when I have the ROH mags on (the contessa's were fine as their an extra inch out).

That's rubber on the bottom of the nut :?

So as I don't want to go to skinner tyres and I don't want flairs so I can't go back to the contessa's what are my options?
I've ground a little bit off the bolts that extended past the nut but that wont solve the problem, I think I might have to look at some spacer plates (I know their technically illegal).
One idea I had was to get some large 1mm washes and add one set at a time until I think I have enough clearance then get some one piece spacers machined up so their exactly what I need.
What are your guys opinions :?:

Thank god these tyres are on their wear markers, I'd be spewing if they were brand new, and I did try and get some new tyres for the muster, it's a good thing I'm lazy :roll: .
I think the majority of the damage happened this arvo as I was driving rather enthusiasticly :P .

are you useing disc brakes on the front which you should also have the spaced drums also on the back which will push the wheels and Tryes out just that little bit more :wink:

Full S set up disc's up front, spaced drums down the back :? That's why I think my only option is a spacer :( .
The seat belt nuts are welded on to a 3mm plate (as required by the ADR's) and then the plate is welded to the body and it ain't coming off easily.

Is it only doing it to the one side?
How is the wheel alignment?
Could the frame be crooked?

I would hate for you to buy wheels/spacers/flares/etc and find out that it was a bent trailing arm! :lol:

i know hes running disks at the front, but i have a suspicion hes still got normal drums on the rear.

I had the car fully aligned two days before the Muster so it's not that, and it is doing it on both sides.

All space drums are the same aren't they?
Theirs no difference between mini and moke and the "super fins" aren't any thicker are they?

Looking at that pic of your car in the other post, i guess it will depend on your wheel offset as well, but it dosnt really look like you have spacered drums on the rear?

Moke drums are only 1/2" spaced AFAIK.

We have some minifins here at home that heve no step, so who bloody knows these days!

My bet is that you have moke drums that clear by juuuuust enough, but not quite.
