Just got a quick question as im a little baffled. Is the 12YD motor a 1275cc found on late model clubmans or is it a 1100s motor found on the rovers as i have found conflicting advice both on this site when i did a search and also on the net and all this confusion is making my head hurt

Cheers

12YD/Ta/H is a later Morris 1100S, 1275cc.
The changeover for cranks small journal/ large journal is 12YD/Ta/H10487 - 12YD/Ta/H10488

Earlier small J ones were 12Y/Ta/H prefix.

I have a few examples....

Not seen one lately but yes I believe so.
They were UK built motors, basically same as a UK 1275GT.

A lot of the engine number guides on the net are wrong about the Australain engine numbers.
The 1275LS got an engine with 12H902UH******, they never got 12YD/Ta/H. It was impossible! But a lot of websites will tell you differently.

The 1275LS motor is similar to an Austin Allegro but with a pollution air pump.

Were the LS engines mechanically fuel pumped or otherwise??

I have a plate on the pump hole, and a PO fitted a facet down aft.

Better this way than starting a new thread though IMHO.

Son's Moke has a 12YD/Ta/H motor - but it's a transplant - other numbers don't match and it has drum brakes :?

A Moke will not have been made with a 12YD/Ta/H motor.
It is a Morris 1100S motor and nothing else.
The D refers to a variant only used in the 1100S
The Ta refers to the remote control centre change gearbox that was not fitted to the Moke (they have a U instead of a Ta)
