Has anyone had these come loose at the adjuster bolt?
I had mine aligned and a week later the car was unexpectedly throwing me sideways in the corners. I checked everything and they were loose on both sides of the car, the passenger side had around 10mm of movement at the bolt so it was a couple of inches at the wheel  . Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
They didn't come with spring washes, are they ment too? Also I used "Never seize" on the threads, would this prevent them from staying tight :?: I used it all over the car during the rebuild :? however most bolts have spring washers or lock nuts.

I have them on my car, and have done a few thousand K's since fitment and they're still as tight as when I fitted them. I have no spring washers or thread locker on mine.

Are you sure your alignment place didn't leave them loose?

i will have to check mine but they seem ok. perhaps the anti-seize is causing them to come undone?

I reckon the simplest explanation is that the apprentice at the alignment place forgot to tighten the lock nuts up... which is why I won't let anyone I don't know near my car.

I wouldn't think never seize would be your problem.
Not using it will be a problem down the track though when you find the threads have rusted up and you can't get the things apart!
Tightening the nuts up to the correct tension should solve your problem however a spring washer under each nut would be good insurance, you might also want to remove the flat washers. Lastly make sure the arm is square to the Ball Joint when you tighten it and not twisted out of alignment..... This will ensure full operational movement of the ball joint. Note this is not an issue with a one piece Arm.

The ones I fitted to the deluxe are still nice and tight. 5500km later. No spring washer, just fitted adjusted and tightened!

My vote is for the wheel alignment place not tightening it up enough.

(Don't use the spring washer without the flat washers, they help locate the ends of the arm, and you'll damage the arm with the edge of the spring washer.)

Matt,
I don't like to contradict you but it is NOT correct engineering practice to have a flat washer under a spring washer. the way it works is for the spring washer to bite into both the nut and the object it is tightened against.
If the flat washer is required for alignment then leave the spring washer out.

Are spring washers supposed to be put on in a certain direction?

Hi Dave,

I stand corrected! (I will be taking note to do it the right way when I find them from now on)
You coming to the next MGM or is it too soon to know?

Yes, with the hole in the middle

Spring washers are generally made to suit right hand thread.
Just like a normal nut, it doesn't matter which side is up, it will still work the same.

Now where has my left handed screw driver gone?

It won't matter unless you're using one on a left-handed thread.. in that case you'd probably want a matching spring washer but on either, you can turn the washer over and it's still exactly the same.

[edit] awdmoke beat me to it ;)
