Post subject:  steering wheel column

OK I picked myself up a nice new sports steernig wheel but when its on, its about 10 cm closer to my head than the original. I know that its possible to reduce the angle of the steering column so its more like a "modern" day car, but is it also possible to shorten the length of the steering column to bring the wheel closer to the dash... :?

There are 2 different column lengths-
Clubbie column is about 1"? shorter than earlier ones.
If there's 10cm difference, you bought the wrong wheel, IMO...

I sat in his car the other night, steering column has just been dropped and he sits pretty far back, not sure whether he has done anything special, he'll have to answer that..

nothing special I am sorry.. I just sit a fair way back

The only thng I could think of is moving your seat back or raising the wheels up higher.... Think about it, because the column is attched at the bottom, the higher you move it, the further forward it will sit....

The other option would be t grow some longer legs and sit back lol! :D

Longer legs..? I am lucky to see over the bonnet as it is..!! I aint no giant unfortunately.

OK looks like using an existing steering wheel with this boss kit till I can work something out...
