Is a rover alternator just a plug and play type of mod? if so how is it wired up?
which wire goes where?

Depends on how the car is wired.

If the original alternator had an internal regulator then the Rover one should just plug in. (later Clubmans)

But if the car is wired with an separate alternator then you will need some re-wiring. (Mini K's and early Clubmans)

Unfortunately by the look of the bunch of wires in your hand you have the second type and will need some wiring work.

yeh.... i replied to Kev, i know that he said, the brown yellow wire goes to the little lug, then the big brown and other black (from coil) goes to the other 2 lugs.... anyone help???
