Use Carnauba Wax to protect polished or buffed chrome, alloy or aluminium. There are wheel waxes, most will come off with washing, etc then you re-apply Many brands to choose - Auto Glym - Mothers - Meguires - plus more Some stuff like Meguires NX has a protective thingamadoohickey IN the polish, but doesnt last as long as a pure wax. If you can get hold of some Tectyl, you should be able to keep the shine up. From what I've heard though, it may not be available any more. It used to be sold in boat shops and some auto shops. Boaties used to spray it on brass to stop it from going green. |

Elbow Grease really the only way to keep Alloy shiney just depends on how long you expect it to be that way. I will not go into getting it to mirror finish except its different grades off wet and dry cross hatching the grades as you go. After this its using the grinder and buffing wheels with the waxs. As mentioned by Pete above I do like useing Meguires NX as it does leave a protective fealm ontop and does last longer than normal polish as also mentioned above, (Experiance from our Dunlop Wheels which are driven every Day). One additional tip I have for those that are intersted. I was previously told about useing Kero after Polishing. Wax and Grease Remover (I use K&N) on a soft rag takes out that colour and if you are close to mirror you will trully see it now. To answer your question I & Chopchop are trialling Glisten by POR15. Its a Clear paint and has to cure for 4 days before item being used. it can be sanded down aslo after it has cured. Myself I would not use Spraycan products as on some polishing forums they tend to go yellow. I have used this product on suspention parts and intend to also use it on engine parts which will be interesting to see how it goes with heat. Pm me if you wish some more info |

Go to Big W and grab a tin of Bright shine, its great to keep the shine up and repels water, I use it and it works a TREAT. |

Search the web for a polish called GORDS from the USA it is the best polish i have ever used, you will never regret buying it. Steve |
