can this be rebushed in-situ?

I have the rear brakes apart at the moment, and noticed the drivers side trailing arm has some movement on its pivot shaft.

I searched on here and discovered its not really a home part time mechanic job to fix it... so should I take the arm off and take it to a pro to get done, or leave it for now and re-assemble the brakes, then when the car is driveable, take it somewhere to get done?

If i take the whole car, does the whole arm have to come off to get the job done? ie brake lines removed again etc? or can it be done in-situ?

Job is a lot easier if the arm is removed from the car.
If the car doesn't need to move for a while, I'd do it now.

I would love to meet the Hero who could change and ream a trailing arm bush and change the bearing without taking it completley off the car.
My advise would be get it done while you have it apart, it will have to come apart again if you don't.

yep while the brakes are off also get the arm done also.

I just did this job myself on two hydro arms.

Bugger of a job even with an expanding reamer and guide bar...a nice result however, but nothing tangible to be proud of other than a nice new bush.

I took photos so will throw them up when I get a moment (I'm procrastinating from Uni work again...)

it's alright its down at the mini shop getting done this week. I have no equipment to do this sort of job it seems!

the other good thing that came from pulling it all apart.. found out why the drivers side rear was riding a good 1/2" higher than the other side.. the high low had a spacer on the knuckle joint!
