g'day all well i was wandering with the locking tab thing that you bend over when you do up you flywheel nut all the bits on mine that you bend over are bocken off and at the moment i have it all pulled it apart so i need a new.....can you make your own out of a bit of sheet metal or somehting?????? cheers |

bin it and do the flywheel bolt up to 150lb/ft with some loctite 262 - the locktabs are a bad idea |

Sure you can if you can't wait for or get a comercially made one. Make sure you understand what is required for it to hold the nut from unscrewing before you start. Use the correct Gauge steel and start by putting the required hole for the flywheel bolt through it, then cut the disc out adout 1/2" larger in diameter than the flywheel washer. Fit the flywheel, washer, lock tab and bolt.Tighten to required tention then knock the tab down over the flat on the washer and bend it up onto the flat on the bolt. Easy! Dave |

Use loctite 262 on the threads. You can still break it, sure it needs a 1/2m long breaker bar but I would bin the lock tab. |

would you use the same loctite instead of all the other lock tabs through out the whole motor? |
