Sorry in advance coz its gonna be a bit of a strange request. I need an alternator bracket for the bosch alternator. In the past I used two standard brackets bolted together but that kept failing. So I went to all the wreckers in mascot/botany and found a long ratcheting bracket which worked great. It did however had a crack in it when I got it and failed too eventually. Now I wanna try the mid 80s mitsubishi magna ratcheting bracket which a few people said works well, but none of the wreckers around here (eastern burbs, and port botany, mascot and airport area) have any available. I know pick and payless will have some but I don't know whether the mini with its loose alt. belt will survive the 1+ hour drive each way w/o discharging the battery (atm I'm having to keep toping it up with a trickle charger). Could anyone keep an eye out for this bracket next time theyre at pick and payless (I know there's essentially a constant vigil of ausmini members at that place even though recently the prices went up and minis are few and far between in that sad British car corner they have). And maybe pick it up and post it to me if its available. It should cost around $5 but in any case I will happily reimburse any member for any purchase costs + postage, fuel etc..... |

Mate, I have to attend one of the above mentioned wreckers on the WE. I will grab one if I see one. I have one here but I may need it because my alternator is a bit sus and I might convert it. |

Hey Mick, I have the Magna alternator bracket, and its gold. I actually went to find others and decided to try the magna one, around a year and a half ago  Absolutely buaetiful and easy
