If Mini's were never produced, i'd be driving an AE92 Corolla Hatch with a 4AGZE.

Think I'd have to go with a ford escort. Plenty of performance mods available and another top performer in the history of racing

cheers

Hey Whodat, you talkin bout something like this?

Image

While it turned heaps of heads and had more than three times the power of a mini and weighed less with sensational handling, I still prefer my minis.

No I dont, I'm just saying atht cause I was forced to sell my Westie

I've been in a Dato 1600 with FJ20 turbo. Quite impressive. Probably cheaper to put togther than a mini too, just from what my mate has been saying. Having said that, I've hardly seen any in qld, probably all rusted away.

I'd probably have to think about a MX-5, my boss has one as a toy, and it is pretty impressive too.

Hard question, I like small fast cars, but hate the ricer scene

The more exotic, unique and unusual the better. British, cantankerous, legendary, is there really any replacement?

Dr Trim

Where do I start,

Hmmmm lets see,

I bought the car from Canberra, drove one hour and the clutch pedal snaped (yes I said the clutch pedal). Had to drive the rest of the way home with a straight cut close ration box and no clutch.

Had the car 10 days and stuck it into a conctete wall in the wet. That's when I found out this was no ordinery westie, the whole car had been hand made with one purpose in mind - racing. Everything had been modified so replacing the bent bits took months.

Got it bac, two weeks later it broke a valve spring (lucky the motor did not lunch it's self the last time it did that the rebuild cost $20,000 plus and one year (ford Cosworth race motor).

It took 2 months to get my hands on a set of valve springs. I could have got them from Cosworth UK but they cost $1,600 per set!

Got it fixed and the Throttle position sensor buggred up and sent the MOTEC into default mode. Got the TPS fixed and it took 1 week on the dyno (charged at an hourly rate) to get it tuned bacuse the MOTEC was playing up and we could not work out why.

Finally got it all running and the Slide throttle body came loose and while I was trying to fix it I droped a ball bearing dwon the inlet trumpet - had to pull the head off to retreive it.

To tell you the truth I have probably left out 4 or five other misshaps including the day I had a vistt from the cops who wanted to confiscate the car beacsue they saw me doing donuts with Baracade in the car earlier in the day.

If you ever buy one, buy one with a Toyota Motor. As far as I know I owned the only Fors Cosworth Powered Westie in Aus.

Even the night I sold it I accidentally ran it into a gutter and scratched the freshly painted nose cone.

Having said all that I would buy another one tomorrow if I had the money.
