Not my car and I'm not selling it, I got sent the details today. It's for sale from Japan. Just put here for interest sake.

I was just wondering if anyone in Aust still makes full fibreglass cars like the Eureka but based on the Mini? In one of the English mags, I saw a really old ad for a bolt on fibreglass front but not a flip front, it was more of the Marcos look.

Note the Corvette looking badge. See it's not just Holden Utes that have Chev badges fitted.

I know this question will be coming so for anyone who wants to know it's Est FOB 4,000,000 (Nearly AU$45,000).

yeah fugly, i think the round headlights dont work well with the lines of the front of the car.

Yeah, I thought that too. Why have square recesses and round lights? They must have been trying to make it 'modern'. Also the front chin is quite high, whereas the rear is squat and low. The lines need to be more rounded and simplified; then it would look great. Apart from a few fit issues (the doors look warped), it would be nice to own, just not at that price.

The Mini-Marcos bodyshells are available new in the UK:

I'm guessing you would be looking at $15,000 to $20,000 for the stage 3 kit by the time it has landed here and you've paid tax and duties. It is another of those things on my gunnado oneday list. Practically though, it might be better to get an older one with some registration history so that you can actually register it.

You'd better look up the rules about kit cars in your state. Last time I checked it out it wasn't practical to build anything that wasn't based on a current model that had all the emissions compliance stuff. If you have a look at the tiny range of kit cars available in Australia, they all use very modern engines.

Can't work out whether it's Mum stood on it's face to wind the clock or simply fed it ugly pills, perhaps we could establish a judging panel to work out how hard it is to look at and even establish Degrees of Ugliness for any variations of the type, points would have to awarded for land speed record attempts or entry to the 24 Hours of Le mans ...
