Post subject: | help needed with sunvisor |
I orderd some new sunvisors from the UK and again I should never use a credit card when I've had to many beers ![]() http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/cars/mini/p ... 249&type=7 They mount on one end with a locator near the mirror. I have fitted them in the car and would like to use them but I need to find some clips has any one seen this type sunvisor or know where i can get clips? |

I believe the clips are available, but can't remember where from.... edit: it's label 63, part number ADA4370 in here... http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/pdfs/Catalogues/Int-Body-Fittings/05-Headlinings-Sun-Visors.pdf however, you don't want those sunvisors, you need to drill holes in the roof rail to fit them, and they'll be generally yukky..... I however could use a pair of them for my traveller, and I happen to have a lovely pair of original ones that'll suit your car how about a trade?? ![]() |

This Type of sunvisor was fitted to the Aust Mini for a very short period the clip for the end was also used on the Austin 1800, for memory It does not look like the drawing in the somerford List however, The drawing in that list looks very similar to a bonnet Clip as fitted to the Mini Clubman, I would try a few general wreckers see if any of them have some austin 1800'S |

The clips are available from Newtons, very slightly different to the originals but will fit in the same way. They fit into a square that is punched into the inner roof rail, either side of the mirror. Some suppliers call them bonnet say rod clips. They were used on British Mini's in '65 only, but I have seen them on other BMC cars from '65, like 1100's. It might pay to get new ones as the originals are quite brittle now. To remove an original, you need to drive the centre pin right through, releasing the four lugs on the clip. You then have to recover the pin from inside the rail. Regards Al |
