Hi all.
I’m hoping someone can help with this.
It’s probably an easy question and I may have answered it myself already, however.........
In a lot of odds and sods salvaged from a now demolished garage where my Deluxe was living for most of its life I have found a threaded rod and round dished cover/plate.

It looks like a securing 'pin' for the spare wheel and seems to fit the threaded 'support' in the boot floor, even though the support thread is full of old wax type anti-corrosion stuff (the boot area has a complete rubbed rubber mat going from the seat back to the top of the boot lid so I never see the spare or battery box).

It’s no longer painted (rusty) so hard to tell if it was ever part of the car and what I think it is. (If not mini, it might have belonged to the 65 Wolseley that also shared the garage). :?

Were early Deluxe fitted with a securing pin/plate for the spare tyre? :?:

Early cars had a plate in the floor of the wheel well to bolt the spare wheel down to. This was later deleted. Not sure when, but my Mk2 doesn't have one, and my 63 did...
