The reverse lights on Pops don't come on. Is there a switch on or near the gearbox that controls them? |

the switch is in the front of the gearbox on the passenger side, near the top..... if it's fitted |

Is it a rod change box... if so it's on the gear lever selector box. next to the exhaust, most times the exhaust hits it or the wires have gone missing. |

Hey Anton, I had the same problem. Not loose wires - the switch was coming apart!! It is held together by squashing the ali body over the plastic top. Take it out, squeeze it back tgether and tap (using a BFH) the folds down to stop any movement. Should start working again. Gavin |

The switch, if fitted, is on the front of the gearbox just under the oil filter. When mine didn't work I had to make up a new plunger to get the correct length for it to operate properly.Trial and error with a mutimeter. |

Easy way to see if the switch is fitted is check the rear lights. If the blinkers at the back have twin fillement (sp?) then it's got a reversing light switch. ![]() |

hmmmm.......I had a good look this arvo. Nothing in the area mentioned......only the large hex head bolt for the reverse gear spring. I had a read of a few manuals, and all I could find was mention of a switch in the wiring diagram....can't see it on the car. Like you say Poeee.......should there be one or did K's have it as an option....or not at all? Anyone?? |

They did not come with reversing lights till they had to! The switch goes onto the the large hex head bolt for the reverse gear spring. |

No reverse lights on a `70 car. Mine passes every year, without. same goes for no heater on early cars. ![]() <edit> It's the 1098 Clubbie and Clubman GT that got the reversing lights first I think. Twin filaments in the rear blinkers. |
