Guys I am back in Brisbane again. I am about to drop off my pattern to a trimmer off here. The pattern is for MK1 and MK2 cooper S carpet. It is made from an original set of carpets so is spot on. If anyone wants a set let me know. I will reply with a price tonight. If we order a few we should be able to get a discount. The trimmer did a couple of sets for my previous restos and his work is spot on. The carpets will not have the original heel pad for obvious reasons but you can track down something similar and fit it at a later date. I will have them fitted with a thick vinyl heel pad in the correct size for the time being. Greg

Greg, are you able to get the right colours? and will the carpet have the clips on them, as per factory?

My K has Mk II S carpet (apparently it was a factory order). It's blue....but pretty old and tatty. I am keen on a replacement (price and colour permitting).

Anton.

I'd be interested in knowing the price and do we choose our colour?

Sorry cant include the clips, dont know where you can get some. I have a few spare sets of clips but keeping for future restos. You can choose your own colours, and I can do my best to get as close to the colour as possible, but if it is slightly the wrong shade, you guys will have to wear it. There is nothing in it for me to make the orders, am about to order 3 sets for myself and thought some others might need one too.

My car is light blue so a navey coloured carpet would contrast it nicely

sorry guys havent had time to drop into the trimmer again. Will do it today and get back with the price. The carpet sets I am getting are the full set ie front and rear carpets, kick panels, box section firewall section, two side trims. I also have one genuine Cooper s heel pad for the floor carpet that is brand new. It is made of black high density rubber. If anyone knows who can cast a mould we may be able to reproduce these. This is the only one I have left and it will soon make its way onto one of my cars. Any ideas?? I am trying to get hold of the close loop carpet as used on a MK 2 cooper s. Apparently it is still made in Denmark. If not will have to use an alternative. But will let you know.

I have taken patterns off things in the past - not too difficult - problem would be what/how do the producers of the rubber mats need as a die. Certainly getting a pattern now we can worry about the rest later

Ok guys everything is sorted out. The carpets are loop pile as per Mk2 cooper s. We tried to get the tight loop carpet from Europe but are struggling at this stage. My trimmer can get a regular loop carpet that is not bad. They are trimmed in vinyl piping as per original, and have the correct pattern. He is going to stitch on a heel pad of ribbed black rubber and a accelerator scuff pad as well. These are a complete set including front and rear floor, both wheel arches, box section, firewall section, and door opening pieces x 2. If anyone wants MK 1 westminster carpet there is a copy out there so if you want to source it I can have them made up for you. There is nothing in it for me, but I am happy to help. The price is $380 per set which is pretty cheap considering how much work is involved. My set will be finished this week so can post pictures for you. Can be contacted on 0402214066. Greg

I can snap off a photo of the colour samples he has in loop pile. Alternatively if you get hold of a sample colour code and carpet brand he should be able to order it in for you.
