Anybody out there removed an air-con system from a Mini ?

I don't use mine at the moment, and don't really want to. If it's hot...I put the windows down and open up the rear ones.

My reasons for removing -
Make some more room in the engine bay.
Make it possible to change spark plug number 4 with ease.
Get rid of a bit of weight.

Is it an easy job ?
How many hours might I be looking at ?
Whats the go with de-gassing ?

Anybody in the market for a rover aircon setup ?

I've pulled it out of a Rover front cut & put it into a clubman, it's not rocket sceince, just a step by step procedure, take to a auto elect or AC place to get it degassed, and go from there.

I'd leave it in, but thats just me.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.
