Post subject:  3 gauge cluster

Hi every1 my names jarred im new, i have a 75 clubbie s with a 3 gauge instrument cluster but the third one is a clock. its so frigging loud it SH*ts me to tears. anyway i was wondering if i replace it with one that has a tacho instead is it a straight swap over or will i have to wire the tacho in?

If you swap the whole cluster you will need to wire the tacho in, shouldnt be to hard. My clubman never came with a standard tacho but it still had the sending wire the comes from the coil to the tacho just laying there. Its a white with black tracer wire i think.

you can also just take the clock out and replace it with the tacho, saves you buying a whole new unit, might save you some $$, sometimes the 3 guage clusters sell for big money.

No. They were fairly common in Marinas (so you could tell how long it took to get to 100kph).

id say no, the clock clusters came on mini k's, whereas the tacho clusters came on clubman s'. If you PM mattsmadmini he wired in a tacho to his cluster, he originally had the two, then added the tacho in later.

They are orange needle
