bit of an odd question maybe...

BUT, did the mini ever come with an external sun-visor?

like a peak on a cap, you see them on US cars from the fities/sixties a lot.

I'd love to see some pcs if anyone has any please as I am seriously considering tracking one down / making one.

thanks in advance!

The sunvisor was an option from BMC. There were two types, the solid metal and the metal mesh.
In 1966 the solid metal would cost $15.78 on its own or $19.28 fitted.
The mesh visor would cost $17.40 or $18.90 fitted.

They are still made. Go to http://www.autocables.com.au/ They are a bit dearer these days...

This is what the reproduction mesh one looks like. They were fitted to NSW Police vehicles (together with a drivers door windshield) because air conditioning for Minis hadn't been invented and the cars could spend their days in the extreme heat of rural areas. Black interior wouldn't have helped either.
