I've used cable ties to secure the boots on but the passenger side one keeps coming off.It seems the knobbly bit on the tie is too thick so when it turns it gets pushed off What else can I use which would give me the clearance.? |

Old skool uses tie wire. Put it around at least twice to spread the load and make the tightening a little more progressive. Twist it off and fold it down. Easier ways to do it these days, but stil a very good way of locking them down. |

I'll add that by 'down' the wire should hang away from the normal direction of travel (being forwards). The best thing to use is the later steel rings, they're 4-5mm wide and only 1mm thick. No adjusting or tightening on them, they can just be tricky to install. ![]() |

The strap looks easier but it also looks like I might still run into the same problem I'm having with a cable tie - the flat bit of the tie is ok ,its the connecting bit thats causing the problem. Its funny that its only a problem on one side. |
