nah i'm not big on lots of chrome, and i will be able to paint it myself instead of taking it somewhere. but it should be cool.

is there anything i can stick between the mounts and my car to stop it wrecking the paint? i know the paint is average anyway but i dont want to make it worse...

also, that screw with the sheared off head, how will i get that out? the other three took a bit of force to break the rust that was on them. will i be able to drill it out?

Next time your in Target, K-Mart, Big-W grab the cheapest push bike inner tube they have and cut off 4 bits the length of the feet on the rack and about an inch wide to sit between the rack and the gutter.

Handy things these bike tubes. I've always got (the remains of) one in the tool cupboard. They're also thin enough to cut pieces to sandwich between all sorts of squeaky bits
