Post subject:  van rear door seals and adjustment
Ive got myself new door seals for the front doors, but was looking at the rear doors the other night. The seals are pretty hard/squished and broken in a few places, and I'd like to remove them when I paint the car, which will mean they will definitely be cactus then.

How hard is it to get rear door rubber seals? Where, approx $$. We cant use a universal seal like I bought for the front doors?

And can we adjust the height/angle of the doors? One sits a little higher than the other where they join in the centre, Id like them even if possible :)

Got my Traveller rear door seals from Somerford Mini in the UK and even with postage and new clips it still worked out cheaper than getting them locally. I'll send you details of cost later as the invoice is at home.

The seal came in one long strip and I just cut the corners at a 45 degree angle and glued it. Seems to be holding up pretty well touch wood!

Doors positions are adjustable. I found it easier to get one in position then adjust the other to fit neatly by a combination of loosening and tightening the hinge bolts on both the door and the bodyfixing.

Ive had both the doors off, and put them back on when I had to repair a small dent in one of them. I had a close look at the hinges but couldnt work out how to adjust the height/sit through them. They just appear to bolt up, but there doesnt appear to be any room for adjustment... (the bolt holes are the right size, no room for sliding to adjust the sit) can you tell me how to adjust them?

Maybe mine was a one off, but the bolt holes in the hinges, on the body and the doors were 1-2mm bigger than the bolts. This, with the nuts done up loosely seemed to give me enough movement to get good alignment. Scary thought but I guess you could drill a little out of each!
By the way my door seals/clips worked out to about $70 all up including postage from the UK (about 2yrs ago)
