Howdy Guyzzz.

Well i've striped the motor and am up to splitting the box from the block, all of the bolts are out, and it has copped a couple of bashes with a copper hammer, but no good, so i was wondering what methods people have used.

Is there a threaded hole somwhere that i cant see that will jack the two apart?

Cheers guyz.

If it does'nt come apart with a few hits there is most likely a bolt you have'nt removed, carefully check it over and see if theres any left.

It will come apart, it is only the old gasket gluing itself slightly to the box that is keeping it together.

Somehow getting a toe hold on the bottom of the gearbox while lifting the crankshaft helps to start the tear away of the gaskets, it's all easy from there.

Double check the bolts are all out, it shouldn't be that hard. Check behind the crankshaft pulley, there's a couple in there, and also try removing the locating dowels found on the rear edge at the two corners. This should help as well.

Cheers guyz.

Well There were no bolts in the block, and i still couldn't lift it or hit it off, then dad came with the wisdom and prised it off with a screwdriver, using the bolts that had been put back into the flywheel block holes, so i dont loose them, this broke the gasket seal, so all is good now.

Cheers
