Post subject:  Metric and Imperial ?!

Am doing up a 63 Mini.

Fitting a Rover front subframe/engine/gearbox/brakes.

Currently have everything out of the engine bay and sprayed the new colour.

Made the obvious decision to replace the old brake and fuel lines whilst I can get to
them easily.

Just realised that the brake line coming from the sub frame is actually metric.
No prob.. I will just have a new line made from the sub frame T piece, to be metric
on one end and imperial on the other.

Then I thought I'd check the Rover clutch slave cylinder.. to find that it is imperial.

Why would they use both metric and imperial??? :x

I bet most new fuel line made in the EU now is metric.
As for the slave cylinder, they have always been Imperial on Minis.

A few other metrics in a Mini-
Flywheel puller bolt holes (Verto clutch only)
Brake pipe connections to FAM valve on bulkhead (late Clubby)
