Is their a proper way to set the tensioner on an A+ 1275 or do you just simply do it by feel? |

What he said- ^^^ ![]() Some people fit a duplex chain and keep the A+ tensioner too. It's not designed for a duplex but apparently works, sort-of. I've never felt the need.. ![]() Note that most chains now are poorly made (compared to the Renolds UK chain of yesteryear)- they are loose when new. The exception is the Jwis endless chain (made in Germany, around $60), Rolon chain is pretty good too. |

Yes, by feel, enough to take any slack out of the chain, then just a little tension. I have been running the A+ tensioner on my race engines for years now without any dramas. These A series blocks have been line bored so the distance between crank and camshaft has been altered and the tensioner takes out any slack. |

Thanks, all done now. I used a Rolon single row chain, permertight on the gasket and loctight on the bolts, should all be good fingers crossed ![]() |
