RE13 gives more power than a 286 IMO, it's better in traffic too. I love my RE282 better than both, but sadly these are now NLA. ![]() |

![]() why?? Cant you just provide him a cam and he grind it to that specification?? |

He,s right if you get the specifications a good cam grinder can give you the cam you want for less than $150. If you buy one "off the shelf" it will cost you $400+. I had a look at the Kent Cams website and the MD274SP looks like a great grind for a 1098, nice wide powerband. ![]() |

Sadly, the 282 cam grind master got lost a year or so ago when sent to Melbourne for hardening. It has never been found. Cost to get another master generated in USA is now prohibitive. If a fresly ground 282 cam existed, a master could be made from it- however, accuracy would not be as good as a new master. Only about 4 of these 282 cams were made- 3 are in use and one was trashed when a motor blew. However, Graham has further developed the RE13 since- if you want a little more top end than the standard RE13, he can oblige. ![]() |

Mine hasn't had the chance to have anything go wrong! ![]() Since the drags in October it has been sitting in the shed... The body shell is STILL at the paint shop. Mick, what torque is yours making? |

Mick, yeah it was Jai- apparently he lent the car to someone and they blew the motor up comprehensively. He was "Not Happy, Jan". Jai posted pics here of the blowup at the time, but I dunno where the thread is. ![]() |

But as luck would have i have his car so i have some ransom to hold onto, but it was the only south african block in the country, it was also an A+ gear box with the 3bolt main shaft bearing and larger idler gear. |
