Mmmm,

How was the "question and answer" ! Someone reckons he just bought one for $27,000. "Had hundreds of calls" Bit suss..........

Reckon it will go for 19k. Someone tried to blow all the bidders away with the doubling of the bid of 5k up to 10k. Same bidder did it for the 850 from 2.5k to 5k (still there)

Now if my shares were worth anything..........

It will be very interesting to see!
I have serious Doubts as to the mileage claimed at 17900.
By the took of the engine bay and interior I would say more like 117900miles.
Too many mods and changes for it to be that low milage car to my way of thinking.
Also its a shame someone has cut that great big hole in the roof, what does that mess do to its value????

Dave

How do you know this :?: I thought bidders identities were kept hidden now, or are you just going by the name "Bidder 3" :D

Cheers
Steve

Nope, just checked the bidders statistics: click on the bidder number and it gives percentages (don't understand exactly) and number of bids etc. These were exactly the same for the knockout bids on both cars...........

yep, pity about the big hole in the roof!

The (patched) hole in the roof where the aerial was fitted is the best indicator of an ex-Police Cooper S. Not many people would drill a hole then patch it so it can't be seen, just to produce a replica. You can usually feel the patched area through the headlining. Other items like the handbrake indicator, two-speed wipers and reversing lights can be retrofitted, although the wiring for these was included in the loom and should be checked.
So having a sunroof negates one of the tests. It may be why the sunroof was fitted - to get rid of the aerial hole

At least it's a webasto type sunroof too and not a glass popup one . It's a period mod so wouldn't do too much to the value (originality points loss but not style points loss) .

Hello

How can this car be worth anything near the current bid with a supposed 19700 miles on it. The engine has been out and painted the wrong colour, has the wrong sticker and pcv valve is wrong. The carpets look quite worn and the seats look lumpy, have they been worn out and then packed up to support someone sitting in it. The rear seat belts should be black, and are they in the right place ? The wrong steering wheel and that stupid accelerator pedal!! A previous owner must have been pretty uncaring, look at the state of the bootboard and bootlid liner :!: and that's not even considering the bloody hole in the roof. How could this be worth anything near the value of an original car :?: especially when it needs such a lot fixing on it.
I really think you are all geting a bit carried away with your wild ideas!

Nice looking car, for a Morris Mini-matic. At least that's what the body and engine numbers on the plate indicate. A bit naught they don't mention 'replica' anywhere.
I haven't inspected the eBay S but, if it's a genuine ex-Police vehicle that's where I'd be putting the $20,000 or so I should've won on Lotto last weekend.
