I know someone has started a similar thread recently but a) dont want to hijack and b) may be a different problem. Basically when I press the clutch there is no release of it, the clutch arm moves when you push the pedal The clutch arm moves. And the throwout carrier appears to be moving too..only slightly. It however feels very loose and wobbles in its hole (I'm not sure how it is supposed to be however). All i've done to the clutch today is turn the adjuster nut out a bit to 'lengthen' the clutch a bit as it was feeling a little short. What happens if you extend this too much. Cylinders all seem fine, problem appears to be at the clutch housing. Thanks. |

My bet is the ball has broken off the bottom end of the clutch arm. Lift the arm out and look. If broken off don't try and weld it back- it is hardened steel and will break again in a short time. |

Which clutch arm are we talking about, is it in the cabin or in the engine bay? |

Engine bay. The big lever, that connects the slave cylinder to the throwout plunger in the middle of the flywheel housing. |

Ah k cool, so is this easy to take out and replace or does the clutch cover need to come off? |

Remove the return spring on the slave cylinder, take out the BIG clevis pin down on the clutch housing, then the arm and attached slave cylinder pushrod will just lift out. Check the little ball on the bottom- if worn much, is broken or bent, buy a new arm- they are not real dear. Check the clevis pins for wear too. |

Also if the ball is broken on the clutch arm or very worn (will have a very flat side) check the hole in the plunger as it may also be excessivly worn or even damaged due to the clutch arm. To check you have to (  youv'e all got very dirty minds!!.........nothing wrong with that, carry on!!   ) stick your finger in the hole and feel for a very flat side or sharp areas in the plunger.
