Hi there
I am fine tuning my sc12 setup at the moment and was wondering if anyone could recommend a Needle spec for the HIF6. I am running 6psi to 10psi (from 2K to 5K rpm). 8.5:1 Cr pistons .12g940 head standard. MSD boost ignition retard module on Pulsar dizzy.
I am currently running a BCJ needle that looks original (un filed) and whilst performance is pretty good, fuel economy is shocking. It is definately running a little rich down low and at midrange.
I am getting a wideband air fuel gauge soon and assume that I will need to do some major needle filing/profiling but I am just curious as to what needle others are using. (The HIF6 is pretty much the same as HIF44)
Cheers :D
Rick

hi mini 66

im running a similiar setup with electronic dizzy and hif44 on a 1275 ex mg metro a+ block tuning by urself will be very difficult without the air/fuel reading to help make a decision on the needle. i handed mine to link automotive for a gas analyze tune but im not sure on the needle ill let u know next chance i get but it will only be a ball park not precise. if im not mistaken its fairly individual to the setup so there will still be some fiddling yet

Hi Ziegech
Thanks for that. I can't wait until my wideband air fuel kit comes. It should be fun profiling needles until I get it spot on.
I don't trust the dyno tuners here in Coffs Harbour.
What sort of manifold are you runnind the sc12 off?
