| Post subject: | Removing sliding windows |
Ok.. How on earth!? I believe there are three screws in the bottom sliding channel... I can only find one - are they all on the same 'side'... ie inside or outside channel? And then once the three screws are out, does the whole lot slide to the inside and then the windows drop down with the chrome channel (with sliding seals as well? Thanks in anticipation

Thanks in anticipation These screws can sometimes be hard to find because the head of screw is flat and often rusty, You can usualy feel the tip of the screw from underneath this will locate the screw for you |

Sliding window doors never had quarter windows, no. I have tried this John, but I can't feel any bottoms of any screws - it's like its a double panel. Might have another go in some good sunlight ... Another thing that's not awesome about living out of home... no good shed with proper lights and tools  Oh well

Another way of finding the screws is to run a screwdriver through the channels and you'll hopefully be able to feel the metal screw through the felt. They will probably need to be drilled out as the heads rust quite badly. After the screws are out, the bottom rail and channel complete with windows should slide out towards the inside of the car. Slide the bottom out on an angle and then downwards if that makes sense. A horrible job, take lots of care or you'll end up with lots of broken glass. Good Luck Cheers Steve |
