Post subject:  brake set up? rover or cooper

ok you mini guru's

just wondering what is best to have.

what you would recomend. or will work fine.

12inch wheels with rover 8.4 discs. with a 1275 & booster
or cooper s disc breaks with a booster on 10's

both with stepped drums on the back.

would the cooper s be fine for stopping a rover engine?

do cooper S brakes have just as good breaking power for an every day drive on a mini.

just looking for whats safe really.

thanks guys.

Cooper S brakes on 10" wheels stop just as well as 8.4s on 12" wheels, boosted or not. We run 2 sets, and another soon. 8)
Whichever setup you choose, run decent pads. I find the improved EBC DP102s (blackstuff) best for road use, they bite great even cold.
EBC Greenstuffs are fine for sporty use but need warming up to bite well.
