Am so rapt. 7 a.m. this morning the 850 arrived from the Blue Mountains to downtown North Fitzroy. The trucking company was great, cost 595 door to door and was on time!
The car now has a grand total of 29014 miles on the clock; not bad for a 1964 car. It has all the papers, purchase receipt, original hand book and maintenance book and receipts for work done from prior to decimal currency ferchrissakes. My family is so, so happy. New number plates coming by family poll = NAN5.
I am still blown away by how original this critter is. Pics follow soonest

Well done,

I was looking real hard at that one (even though heart set on a Cooper S), and almost drove up to check it out.......

I'm sure you will keep it better than original! Look forward to the pics!!!!!

I just love the sticker on the rear window!

THE INCREDIBLE MINI 850 WITH THE EAST WEST ENGINE!

All that throbbing power!

You should see the tyres! Crikey, 14 years of sitting around in a garage ain't been the best.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I was just out the back screwing on the NAN-5 number plates and decided to have a closer look around. The original rubber mats inside re near perfect and when I lifted them up to look at the condition of the floor underneath, NO RUST!!!! It's like this nana' car has been in a time capsule. She needs a new paint job as it has faded beyond a cut and polish but other than that it's just a matter of very careful attention to get her back to new.

My 20 y.o. daughter couldn't believe it when I got her to drive it from out the front to the garage. 'What's a choke?. Why is the starter button on the floor and hey, why a starter button?. My god, the steering wheel is huge!. How come it's bigger inside than outside? (my personal classic from the mouths of babes!).No radio?'

It was a funny and wonderful 200 metre trip.

Thanks too to Ballistic with the tip on new tyres, much appreciated. I will get to that next week and then RWC and VRRRRROOOOMMMM with all that awesome POWER!!!!!!!!
