Hello

I want to change from 5 to 6" rims for my race car, but the only 6" rims I have are widened stealies.

Would they be a problem to run? I heard they are to heavy, retain the heat to much, and dont provide enough air to the brakes..

is this true?

if so, how much am I looking at spending on a set of 6" mags.

that is all.

Hi

I run 6inch widened steelies. They are fine and don't give me any grief in terms of the brakes overheating etc.

Thats right, non stepped drums.

the wheels will be going on my yellow one here:

that now has discs on it, so it should stick out a bit more then an inch.

Back in the old'n days CAMS used to go spastic when it came to widened rims, so it might pay to make sure they have not been widened using bands! :)

As for the Cooper rims.... 8)

I only use the yellow one for open track sprints, 5 maybe 6 times a year. I should get away with it :)
