This heater came with my 69 van, it is not very efficient and I have a clubby one getting tidied up, maybe I should swap them over?

But can those who know tell me any thing about this heater? Or is it just a jap crap addition? I think it says teo denso (but hey my eyes are crap LOL!)

It is very basic flaps closed for demist and flaps open to warm you tottsies!

There were a few different aftermarket heaters like that used in the sixties. In those days a lot of Australian cars were built without heaters so there was quite a lot of demand for something that was simple to fit.

They are often referred to as beehive heaters, Smiths made one that looked very much like that. They are quite popular with the guys that do up old Holdens.

In the 50s and 60s, most Oz cars were built without a heater fitted standard.
There was a thriving industry in aftermarket heaters, as the factory approved ones (dealer fitted) were such a ripoff.
If you couldn't afford a heater, you bought a little 12V electric demister that was stuck to the bottom of the screen with suction cups.
An element about 300mm long inside gave off a pitiful amount of heat, just enough to defog the screen above it.
