when it comes to fitting sportpack arches ive got the template and the rest of it, but you have to cut the arches.. what did people use to cut the arches ? im thinking about using a rotory tool with a mini cutting disc.. i dont think a normal grinder woudl be accurate enough, what has anyone else used in the past ? or what do people suggest to use ? i fitted wide arches to my mini and i used a nibbler to cut the metal..used an angle grinder on my first mini but this nibbler gave a better result...great tool but kinda got stuck on the seem were the two pieces of metal join but it gave a smoth and clean result. nibbler for those who dont know is a tool that conects to a drill...and kinda puchs a hole threw the metal but realy fast so it cuts like a blade.. ebay sell them. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NIBBLER-METAL-ST ... 240%3A1318 we used the same tool to cut the hole in my dads shed so we could put air vents in the roof. |

I used an little air powered hack saw when I did mine. Remember to cut it shorter than on diagrams and fold the lip back in. Check out tricky's build for info on this. You actually dont see any of it once the arches are on. Saying that, if you are like me you will still want it to look good. I heard that the old torana wheel arches just got a taste of the plasma cutter when they made the s5000 torana's ( is that the right model )... The one with the big arches that looks bad ass. Heard that a good way to see if they are real is look at the arches. If its all neat and pro looking its a fake ![]() |
