| Post subject: | Paint - Sugar Cane |
Hi Guys and ladies, want to touch up my 72 clubman . This time with the correct colour. Does anybody have the correct recipe (mixture) or whatever its called for the colour ' Sugar Cane'. I think it was dulux back in the days made it. Thanks. |

only one way to get the right colour and that is to get someone to colour match it, over time the paint fades and if you just get it mixed it will be wrong , mind you after a few years the new paint is a different colour as it fades at a different rate to begin with. |

Sorry no paint info here except, yes it is/was Dulux Sugar Cane, a light beige colour, my mini K (1970) was sugar cane. |

The only info I have at hand at present, for sugar cane colour is that its shade no 10874 |

According to the Dulux re-finish book that I have the colour code is 526-10874 and the mix formula is: Tinter / Setting 19206 / 299 00740 / 433 05440 / 474 00744 / 500 However, as feralsprint said, the only real way to be accurate is to colour match from existing paint, as paint does fade, and even when new there could have been a significant amount of variance in cars supposedly the same colour (a lot of reasons for this, but too much to go into here). Say thanks for that Watto. i understand the wearing down of the colour. But I'm not an enthusiast, and something close to correct is gonna be better than the shade of white i picked off the rack at the hardware and started spraying indiscriminantly at spots that needed it. So now i want something closer to correct to put over the spots. Thanks guys. Will try colour matching, but can offer them the tints watto supplied. thanks guys. |
