Hey, I know how you feel. I have 4 cars that need selling, but the market is not great atm, for selling a mini, if you can wait, sell it next year for the 50th anniversary, it will sell for sure.

I have had a car advertised on Ausmini for a while now (see below link), http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44943&highlight= and I have not had anyone contact me about the car. I know money is a bit tight at the moment for most but when I advertised it I thought it was a good price and if I drop the price by much we would be better off parting the car out. Is the car too expensive? Wrong colour? I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on this as it has me a bit puzzled why I haven't even had any offers. |

Float it on ebay and see what your response is there - its a bigger market. There is an old used car dealer saying that there is buyer for every car and every price. Yours is top priced but I have a similar car and I know just what it has cost. Mini buyers are a very select group and to get the money you want you have to expose it to the biggest possible market potential. Ausmini is only one of the possible markets and it has many more mini owners than mini buyers. Mike |

Thanks for the replys so far. I tried to sell a couple of cars on ebay a while ago (vw beetle and a IROC camaro) and they didn't even come close to what they are worth. Holding off selling until the 50th birthday bash sounds like the best idea so far. |

g'day lindsay, keep at it mate, i had to sell the one you painted for me (  ) and i posted it on here, it took AGES for me to even hear a whisper.... then i got a few enquiries at once.
i reckon put it on the market a few months before the 50th, with an ad somehting slong the lines of "the mini's 50th is coming up, do you want to be a part of it?" or bla bla bla |

Pricing depends on many things.........next year more people may have less "fun" money and may have to hold back on purchases, despite 50th anniversary...... Hoping not the case, but things don't look so rosy on the general economic front for next year....... |

Because it's a clubman frankly, if it was a round nose it would have sold in a flash, and im not clubman bashing either, it's just the way it is, i have 2 clubbies myself, one of them im fixing up to sell, looks like im gunna struggle to sell it too.

Doogie Couldn't agree more. Clubbies just seem more difficult to get rid of. Plus, with the economic climate a lot of people would be watching their spare cash. I have been hoarding mine, and I am glad I did, as my partner lost her job last week. |

The car looks fantastic in the photos. Just a bit of feedback on the ad. You talk about the interior needing work but there are no photos. It could have no interior? You could do with a lot more photos, engine bay, underneath, seats, dash, inside boot. Lots of photos give a potential buyer a much better idea as to what they are getting themselves in for. The fact that it is a Clubman does affect price. You would struggle to get much more than that for a Clubman GT. I hope you get a buyer, it looks a really nice car. Pete |

Hi, Please take this all as constructive
1. You there's no rego included as it's a CH plated car. This can be worth up to $600 just there. 2. You don't mention if you will pay for the RWC (road-worthy condition and sold with a RWC is a bit different). 3. You've probably over-capitalised on the car - slotted rotors, bit of a funny colour, non-original parts (hyundai seats). Also photos of the interior, dash and engine bay help to show what's been done to the car. I'm guessing there is plenty of stuff you haven't mentioned... more about the engine (head work, dissy, etc perhaps?) Hope that's been insightful... good luck selling it. The paint job looks awesome. Might as well add my 2c in to this (will have the price of the car soon) , the colour mightn't be to everyones tastes , but I'm sure (being honest here , not patronising) that someone will see it and have to have it because of the colour alone . It's a unique looking mini and that will work for it and against it until the right person sees it . |

Looks exactly like what I will be looking for in a few months time, have to move the last project on first. Probably a bit out of my budget though, by the time i get it to Qld and registered. I would say that part of the reason you haven't had much interest from this forum is that most members here would be looking to do there own resto and not looking to buy an almost finished car. Perhaps places like carsales, tradingpost etc would be better. Terry |

I recently sold a clubman on ebay for $6100- . Ebay is fine. Its a large market place. you should simply post on this site as additional marketing towards the ebay sale. The average person does not want to buy an unregistered car. And an enthusiast (often) doesn't want to spend big bucks. You want a non enthusiast. (Note there would be more of them than mini enthusiasts). The only way to get them is to have the car ready to drive away. So get it registered. P.S. at the same time i sold my mini, there were 4 other minis for sale for ebay. None of them reached half my price. And one of them was better than mine. Why, they all set either a high reserve, or a high first bid. Do neither. Let people think they might get a bargain. I had over 35 people registered as interested in the car on ebay page. The bidding reached $5000 within 2 days of a 7 day sale. (What if it only reaches a low figure. Well, have a friend put in bids on the last day to get it up to the price you want. Worst case scenario, you buy it back through your friend, and try again. Only costs a small fee and worth the effort. Its like buying an advertisement. Good Luck |

I love the colour (but they say I'm weird!), don't really like 12" on a mini, and don't really like Clubby's. It took me ages to sell my mini K even though I had plenty of interested lookers, and of course the week I sold it everyone asked if I still had it! More photos would help, especially interior and engine bay. What are CH plates? |
