Hi all
It appears as though all of the sc12 setups that I have seen here have the breathers routed to the vac advance on the carb.
I have been driving mine around with the breathers all hooked up together. Will this damage the blower?

should be alright as far as i know, the breathers are to lower pressure in the block and surrounds to stop oil burning and loss etc. shouldnt damage the blower tho might be proven wrong by someone more experienced

I think they are hooked up to the vac line on the carb so that all of the oil, etc. just gets sucked into the engine and burnt, but that could have only been the pcv system I'm not to sure there

In any case I think you should have the breathers vented to atmosphere in some way, either via a pcv, catch tank or just straight through a filter. If you vent them straight to atmosphere you may have problems with oil being spat out of some tubes and so a catch tank is best.

I might just hook it up to the vac advance port on the carb like everyone else as I tried to plumb it into my PCV catch can but it changed my idle somewhat. The idle races as soon as I disconnect/vent to air thes pipes.

you've got a rich idle - the engine races because it's getting more air through when you disconnect pipes or connect it to something that has more clean air than what's coming out of your engine breathers

that would make sense and yes I do have a rich idle (soon to be fixed as I just got a tech edge wideband air/fuel kit), my question is ; why would it be sucking enough air through the breathers to change the mixture? I thought that the breathers are only venting the bearing or sc crank case on the external side of the seals. I know that the sc is not leaking through the seals as I replaced them and I have had the same effect with the last sc that died. I am a bid confused
